Why are cheetahs on this website? Well, it’s pretty simple actually. If you were the fastest man on ice, what sort of animal would you be impressed by? The cheetah's flexible spine, oversized liver, enlarged heart, wide nostrils, increased lung capacity, and thin muscular body make this cat the swiftest hunter in the world. Covering about meters in a single stride, with only one foot touching the ground at a time, the cheetah can reach a speed of 110 km/h in seconds! The cheetah is a Protected Species in Namibia, Africa, and an Endangered Species under the United States Endangered Species Act. Out of respect for this special cat, many of Casey’s logoed caps and jackets feature a drawing of a cheetah. Casey has long been a supporter of the preservation of the world’s fastest cat, and he invites you to learn more about this fascinating animal and what you can do to help protect cheetahs in the wild. |
