bio1Like many young skaters, Casey was inspired by Eric Heiden’s accomplishments. Unlike most other skaters, Casey has stayed on course. By the time he was 5, he had won his first Wisconsin State Speedskating Championship, and that was just the beginning. Here are some of Casey’s accomplishments thusfar…

  • Nine-time winner of the State Short Track Championship
  • Ten-time winner of the State Long Track Championship
  • Two Gold Medals at the 1990 U.S. Olympic Sports Festival
  • Winner of the 1994 U.S. Junior National Long Track Championship
  • Four-time U.S. National Long Track Sprint Champion
  • World Sprint Championship Bronze Medalist, 1997
  • Two gold medals in 1997 World Cup 1000 meter race
  • Member of 1998 U.S. Olympic team, racing in the 500, 1000 and 1500 meter races
  • Set an Olympic record in the 500 meters at 35.81 seconds
  • Finished 6th in the 500 meters in the Nagano Winter Olympic Games
  • Finished 7th in the 1000 meters in the Nagano Winter Olympic Games
  • Current U.S. National Long Track Sprint Champion
  • Current American record holder in the 500 meters (35.42)
  • Current American record holder in the 1000 meters (1:10.57)

Casey loves fishing, hunting, soccer and water skiing and football. Casey, a place kicker, earned all-conference honors as a member of Carroll College’s football team in 1993. Along with his gold medal dreams, he holds another of someday getting a tryout with the Green and Gold: The Green Bay Packers!
