Hello Family and Friends!
Yes, Casey and I have made it to Salt Lake City, Utah!
It is sticky hot, but gorgeous! We live in a great home about five miles west of the Cottonwood Canyon. Let me backtrack a few months to catch everyone up to speed.
Casey, Kea and myself
took the month of April and part of May to head home for a vacation, to spend time with family and friends, to make a few appearances, and of course to fish a "little".
In May, Casey started
training for the 2004-2005 season.
I flew to Denver to visit my family, and to help my cousins and aunt remember my Uncle John who passed away suddenly. He was an amazing man who inspired me to go after my dreams. I will never forget chatting with him on February 13, 1998 in a Milwaukee Hospital. (We were there visiting my grandmother) We talked about my life, future and boys...He encouraged me to follow my heart and told me to remember that happiness and love are what's important in life. He gave me that nudge I needed to pursue a relationship with Casey! :) I will always love him for that...after an emotional but healing weekend in Denver, I flew back to Wisconsin to pick up Kea, saw my first real life tornado standing the Dane County airport boarding a plane, and then flew straight to Calgary to finish up business up there.
Casey trained hard the months of May and June, he searched for a place for us to live and found me a car, so I could get to work.
In Calgary, I finished packing us up, made some great memories with the families I nannied for, saw as many friends as I could, and entertained Kea as much as possible.
After a month or so of hard
training in Salt Lake City and Milwaukee, Casey flew up to Calgary to meet me so we could drive the Uhaul truck and trailblazer down to Salt Lake City.
After a two day delay with our Uhaul truck in Calgary, WE WERE OFF! It is the last week of June and we finally pulled up to our new home! I couldn't believe we were so close to the mountains! What beautiful views we have of Cottonwood Canyon. We got everything unloaded, and unpacked in about three days! We're getting good at this moving thing.
Casey continues to train with the US team.
He's back on the ice, the bike and in the weight room without much of a break....I'm still trying to curb his addiction to chocolate chip cookies without much success....any suggestions would be much appreciated. ;) He plays soccer each Friday night at the indoor rink at the oval and has really seemed to bond well with his US teammates! My job with Sylvan Learning Centers started July 5th. I am excited to work for a company that takes pride in helping students succeed and become confident in their learning again. They take very good care of me here. I am trying to learn all I can and am working towards my first promotion...which I hope will happen real soon. Just last night we hosted our district summer barbecue here at our home...we had fun playing badminton and singing Karaoke! Casey even won us a few fun things during the little auction my manager had.
Casey is currently in Madison and Milwaukee for three weeks for appearances, fishing, and training. I will join him for a week of my own training the third week of August. I can't believe
summer is just about over! Boy, how time flies when we stay busy!
Well, we would love to hear from you as well...how has your summer shaped up?!
I hope it's been as crazy and fun-filled as ours has! Have a great rest of the summer!
We miss you all, Jenn, Kea, and Casey Fitz
